I love these photos. I used to love drawing the live nude figure when I was an art student. I think I'd get my hiney fired if I used these to teach one point perspective to elementary students though....too bad.
i appreciate what he's showing as well, maybe just in a slightly different way. i wonder how he got started....reallly how do u just get a huuuuge group of people together and then just be like "take it all off and just lay down. thanks, now im gonna take pictures of u all....it wont be porn i promise." its totally awesome stuff, i just wonder how u get that sort of career going. crazy. cool.
There is an HBO documentary on Spencer Tunick, its called something Naked or Nude. Anyways, it tells how he began and how he gets people to "drop their clothes". Many arists know who he is, but as for the average person, many do not know who he is. So when he traveled the world to take these photographs, he literally went to the street and asked random people if they would like to pose nude. Many laughed at him, thinking he was crazy. But every once and awhile, somebody wanted to be liberated. And thats really how he chooses his subjects.
